Summary:

This beautifully crafted game follows the life of a Medjay of Siwa, Bayek and his wife Aya. The main focus of the story is investigating the people involved in the death of Bayek and Aya’s young son Khemu, and getting revenge. Along their journey they come across many different historical figures such as Cleopatra, her brother and Pharaoh Ptolemy (XIII), Julius Caesar, and more. Throughout the game, Bayek travels through villages, cities and towns, restoring order, implementing justice and freeing people from the reign of Ptolemy XIII. While the story progresses, Bayek and Aya live through historic events like the exile and return of Cleopatra and the beginning of her reign. The game also includes mythology from ancient Egypt brought to life, by bringing Bayek face to face with gods and goddesses in fights, and in The Curse of the Pharaohs, Bayek travels through the tombs of the great Pharaoh (in the Valley of the Kings) to the afterlife of these Pharaohs, to life Egypt from a curse and restore peace. *if you don’t like blood, you can turn it off in the game’s settings.

If you don’t wish to play the game, but would still like to see how Ubisoft has beautifully re-created Ancient Egypt you can purchase the Discovery Tour, which allows you to travel across Egypt learning about how people lived, the rituals and ceremonies, how structures like the pyramids were built (and the different types), the temples and the gods and goddesses they worshiped, and all of the history behind cities, as well as the added bonus of how they created this digital world and who they consulted to construct it as closely as possible to how it really was in ancient times.
